stonebarrow_fossils
I picked up this on Charmouth beach last week, Its the body chamber of a large bechiceras ammonite which has been rolling around on the beach for some time. I quite often collect these, just in case they have lots of fossils inside. More often than not in the workshop I find that they are pretty empty but occasionally like this one they can be packed!
It contains a very uncommon prodactylioceras ammonite as well as androgynoceras and tragophylloceras ammonites. Bits of bechiceras body chamber and belemnites, gastropods and lots of shells!
All these may have been washed in to the larger ammonites body chamber when the ammonites soft body had vacated.
